This is an ideal course for individuals wishing to work in a Help Desk environment as it covers all the topics needed. The course is also an ideal stating point for those individuals who wish to pursue an IT career but are unsure of which path to take. The course provides a solid all round ability in using office applications, computer installation and troubleshooting. The qualifications gained from this course are recognised worldwide.

The course comprises of three qualifications;

  1. MOS Office XP
  2. CompTIA A+ 2006 Certification
  3. MCDST

Stage 1. Microsoft Office XP Master

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) program is the only globally-recognised Microsoft-approved certification program designed to measure and validate your skills with the Microsoft Office family of desktop productivity applications: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Project. By becoming certified, you demonstrate to employers that you have achieved a predictable level of skills in the use of a particular Office application. Employers often require certification either as a condition of employment or as a condition of advancement within the company or other organization. Stage 2. CompTIA A+ Certification

A+ is a solid certification that employers look for and is the industry standard for entry-level computer technicians. Every business uses computers and skilled technicians are in demand. An A+ certification opens the door to an exciting career in computer technology at an affordable price.

This Certification is for anyone with basic computer user skills who is interested in obtaining a job as an IT professional or PC technician.

A+ 2006 is a solid certification that employers look for and is the industry standard for entry-level computer technicians. Every business uses computers and skilled technicians are in demand. An A+ certification opens the door to an exciting career in computer technology at an affordable price.

A+ Certification requirements;

To get CompTIA A+ certification, you have to take two tests: one core and one elective test. Test 220-601 (A+ Essentials) is the core exam and for the electives, you can choose among 220-602 (A+ IT Technician), 220-603 (A+ Remote Technician) and 220-604 (A+ Depot Technician).

Stage 3. Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST)

The MCDST is an entry-level credential, demonstrating that an individual has gained the core knowledge necessary to troubleshoot hardware or software operation and application problems for end users on the desktop or client-side, based on the Windows desktop operating system.

The MCDST certification covers the skills of help desk technician, customer support representative, PC support specialist, technical support representative, and technical support specialists. By earning the MCDST credential, individuals are demonstrating that they have the skills necessary to lead organizations in the successful design, implementation, and administration of the Microsoft Windows platform.
